• Book Design This project is based on an interview between LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and journalist Per Sinding-Larsen. Murphy describes how his fear of failure resulted in him being unable to make music and the steps he took to overcome his creative block. Murphy’s words resonated with me, so I transcribed the interview and turned it into a small book that can be easily read in moments of self-doubt and frustration. The books were made with a DIY approach, printed at home on a single sheet of folded A4 paper.

DOTS

DOTS is a typographic design system that allows the user to create fonts using a simple grid. The letterforms can navigate the grid in unexpected ways and represent just one of countless variations that can be created with this strict design system. The results of this process are designs that bridge the gap between accessibility and experimentation, encouraging the user to either work within the confines of the grid or push the system to its limit. Highly methodical yet surprisingly playful, DOTS illustrates how limitations can propel and liberate the creative process.

Haus

Sept 2025

 Haus is a brutalist font inspired by Berlin, drawing from the imposing Soviet architecture and industrial design of the city. The letters are solid and structural, based on the metal lettering above the entrance of the Melanchthon-Kirche in Kreuzberg. The font features sharp angles and thin counters that are the same width as the spaces between the letters, creating a sense of rhythm and uniformity.

Selor Studios

• Logo DesignSelor Studios offers repairs, alterations and bespoke commissions with an emphasis on slow fashion. They restore and renew cherished garments with a variety of mending options, whether the client would like the wear and tear of their clothes to be repaired invisibly or accentuated with characterful darning. A clean and simple visual identity was developed to reflect this, including a flexible colour palette, playful iconography and fonts that serve as reinvigorations of classic typefaces. Individual expression and stories can be found in the smallest details of our clothes, and Selor Studios strives to preserve these moments and breathe new life into your wardrobe.

Mark Hardie Associates

• Digital Design I was approached to create a visual identity for Mark Hardie Associates, a consulting firm who have worked with a range of charities and non-profit organisations. The aim was to present the company with a professional yet approachable image that communicated a sense of togetherness and inclusivity.

Face the Future

• Product Design In this independent project, I aimed to shift graphic design away from institutions and over to members of the public. The project centres around a conventional font with experimental alternate characters, creating a multiplicity of voices that represents the effect of collective action. The alternate characters were designed using the various modular shapes in the stencil included with the type specimen, which can be used to design more characters and add more voices. This design system encourages the user to engage with activist practices and to consider the ways in which graphic design can be used for good.

Mirror Image

This project examines the concept of the mirror image and how it blurs the line between appearance and reality. I explored this idea by designing fragmented letterforms that only become fully legible when they are reflected in a mirror. The project culminated in a short film that demonstrated how the letterforms function.

I am a graphic designer who specialises in type design and typography, but I also enjoy working with photography, film and illustration. My practice is defined by simple, thoughtful and accessible design, drawing inspiration from a wide range of sources. All of my designs are created in my bedroom studio and many of my projects are self-initiated, using whatever tools and materials I have access to.
